Valk, Jan (nee Lawrence) of Broad Bay - On July 20, 2026; aged 65 years.
Loved and loving wife and mate of Paul, amazing mum of Sarah and Matt* Hickey, and Nicola Valk, adored and adoring Grandmar of Matilda.
Treasured daughter of Colin* and Frances* Lawrence, sister and sister-in-law of Stephen and Pam Lawrence, Sue and Dave Connor, and Chris and Lyn Valk, daughter-in-law of Barbara* and Jack* Saxton, aunty, niece and friend to many (* denotes deceased). Jan will be deeply missed and forever loved.
As I sit by the old boatshed and mull over memories of my Broad Bay days "I watched the golden shower of yellow beams, that darted from the sinking king of day, and bathed in a mellow flood Dunedin from the Bay" (Thomas Bracken)
A service to celebrate Jan's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road at 11.00am on Monday, July 27, the funeral then leaving for Broad Bay Cemetery. Messages to the Valk family C/- PO Box 5013, Dunedin 9054.
